Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown is notifying consumers who purchased or leased vehicles from three Lindsay dealerships that they may be eligible for refunds.
The dealerships are Lindsay Ford of Wheaton, Maryland; Lindsay Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Manassas, Virginia; and Lindsay Chevrolet in Woodbridge, Virginia.
The refunds are connected to an April 2, 2026, settlement reached by the Maryland Consumer Protection Division and the Federal Trade Commission. The settlement resolved civil charges against the three dealerships, Lindsay Management Company, owner Michael Lindsay and officers John Smallwood and Paul Smyth.
Consumers who purchased or leased vehicles from the dealerships may seek refunds for amounts paid above the advertised vehicle price.
Customers of Lindsay Ford may also seek refunds for add-on products or services they did not agree to purchase or believed were required. Those products may include vehicle service plans, maintenance plans, paint protection plans, GAP insurance and similar products.
Eligible consumers will receive claim forms by mail from Rust Consulting, the claims administrator. Claims must be submitted within 180 days of the date the form was mailed.
