Massive Barn Fire Engulfs 600-Foot Structure in Guilford Township

Photo and information obtained from Franklin Fire Company

A massive fire consumed a 600-foot barn located in the 4400 block of Lighthouse Road in Guilford Township. Initially reported as an outside smoke investigation, the situation quickly escalated as multiple calls flooded in from witnesses along I-81, who reported seeing the large barn engulfed in flames.

Responding to the urgent situation, Engine 45 from Station 4, with assistance from Company 8 (Marion), initiated a critical 1,000-foot hose lay from the end of the lane to combat the blaze. As additional tankers arrived, portable tanks were established to facilitate an effective water flow back to the engulfed structure, allowing firefighters to conduct a robust fire attack.

Further details on the cause of the fire and any associated damages are yet to be reported.
