CVAS pets of the week: Meet Autumn and Godzilla

Meet Autumn and Godzilla, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. Autumn and Godzilla are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes, and while Autumn and Godzilla would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also.

Go to the Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Adoptions by appointment

Adoptions now take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.

The staff’s first priority is the animals in their care. Staffers and volunteers working at the shelter have to stay healthy to care for the animals properly.

So even though Franklin County is now in the green phase of the COVID-19 mitigation, CVAS is still only allowing the public to visit the shelter by appointment.

Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.

So now meet the sweet and friendly, Autumn and Godzilla!

* * *

I’m a sweet energetic girl who loves to exercise!

Autumn was adopted from CVAS as a puppy and was recently returned to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. She’s a 3-year-old hound/terrier mix who weighs about 60 pounds.

Autumn is a sweet, energetic girl who will need someone that understands she will requires regular exercise.

Autumn does chase cats, so a home without cats would be best for her. She also likes to jump up when she’s excited, so she might be too much for small children. Because of that, an age restriction might apply, so please discuss this with shelter staff.

Do you have the right place for Autumn?

Please help a friendly rat looking for a forever home!

Godzilla is a 2-year-old female rat who came into the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her.

She has never been housed with other rats, but is quite curious and doesn’t mind being handled. She seems to really enjoy the hammock in her cage.

Godzilla would love to find her forever home. Maybe even with you.
