Meet Butler and Sarge, this week’s CVAS pets of the week

Meet

Meet Butler and Sarge, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. These are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter  has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes. While Butler and Sarge would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also. Go to this Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Adoptions now take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.

Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.

Butler

Butler came into the shelter after being found tied to a tree. He is 3-year-old terrier mix who is a sweet fellow. He loves to go on walks and running in the play yard. Butler knows sit and is working on other commands. He did well with the cats at the shelter, but supervision would be recommended in a home. He’s a lovable guy, but can get overly excited and may be too much for small children, so a home with older children is recommended for Butler. Do you have the right spot for this guy? CVAS, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA, Kennel License #2090

Sarge

Sarge is large and in charge! This big, sweet guy weighs in at 15 pounds and has a lot of love to bring into a home. He came into the shelter as a stray and will make someone a wonderful companion. Sarge loves attention and treats (in moderation, of course). Could you give him his forever home?

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
