Meet Candy Cane and Cleetus, this week’s CVAS pets of the week

Meet

Meet Candy Cane and Cleetus, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. These are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter  has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes. While Candy Cane and Cleetus would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also. Go to this Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Adoptions now take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.

Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.

Candy Cane

Candy Cane came into the shelter as a stray on Christmas Eve (hence the name). She is a 3-year-old black and white girl who is a real sweetheart. She loves getting treats and is looking for a home that has a good nap spot. Do you have what she’s looking for?

Cleetus

Cleetus is a 2-year-old terrier mix who came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t know a lot about him, but we have figured out that he would make someone a great hiking or jogging partner! He is a lovebug and enjoys going to the outside yard to run and play! He does know sit but we have yet to find any other commands that he may know. Cleetus is food motivated and aims to please. He would prefer a home without cats due to a high chase drive and he would do best in a home with older children as he may be too much for smaller kids. Could you help Cleetus out? Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
