Looking for a new furry best friend, or just think you would like to add to add to your current menagarie? There are pets galore looking for forever homes at local homeless shelters for abandoned and orphaned pets. Some have been waiting a long time, not because of any fault of their own but because they have fallen on hard times.
Meet Dora and Carrow, just part of the amazing animals residing at Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.
CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoption at the shelter.
Please call ahead if you are interested in meeting Dora or Carrow, or are looking to adopt any of CVAS’s four-legged residents, however.
The shelter has had some strict visitation rules in place during the current Coronavirus health crisis, and now that Franklin County is in the yellow phase of the COVID-19 mitigation effort, is taking things slow.
In order to enter the shelter, you will need an approved adoption application, or an appointment. Visit the CVAS website here or call the shelter at 717-263-5791 for information.
Dora loves to explore and go for walks
Like to explore? Take hikes or go for walks? Need a partner for these activities? Dora may be the one for you! This girl loves to explore and go for walks!
She is a busy girl that is always on the go! She is around 1 1/2 years old and currently weighs in at 57 pounds.
Dora does tend to jump up when she’s excited and is on the rough side when she does so, and an age restriction for children in the home may apply, so please discuss this with shelter staff. Dora has been working on this here at the shelter but will need a family that will continue to work with her on this.
Dora would love to find her forever home and have tons of adventures with her new family!
Carrow is a super sweet girl
Carrow is a 5-year-old gray-and-cream colored girl who came into us as a stray in February 2019. She is super, super sweet.
She can be a little opinionated with other cats, so she might need to be the only feline in the home, but what a lovebug this baby can be!
Carrow would be a perfect only-pet for someone special. Could that be you?
