Meet Lizzie and Naomi, pets of the week

Meet Lizzie and Naomi, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. These are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter has many adorable pets looking for forever homes. While Lizzi and Naomi would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also. Go to this Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoption at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Adoptions by appointment

Adoptions take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.

Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.

While we know very little about her past, we know little Naomi is a special girl in more than one way. Naomi is mostly blind. She may be able to see a little out of her one eye but we are not sure how much she can see. She does not bump into things and navigates new areas well. She is also hard of hearing. She seems to be able to hear loud noises, but not soft sounds.

Naomi came into us as a stray and we’re guessing she’s a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd mix. This little girl certainly does not let her differences get her down! S

he is a very happy baby who loves to run and play! She can be quite vocal at times, especially when excited, so apartment living may not be the best for her. Due to no past history with children, an age restriction for children in the home may apply, so please discuss this with shelter staff.

Naomi has won the hearts of many since her arrival here at the shelter and would love to find her loving forever home soon!

Look at Lizzie’s face. Seriously. How cute is that? Lizzie came into the shelter as a stray and she’s a 4-month-old calico girl who is a ball of fun. She loves to both play and nap – who doesn’t?
