Meet Luna and Rachel, this week’s CVAS pets of the week

Meet Luna and Rachel, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. These are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter  has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes. While Luna and Rachel would like to meet you, check out all the other adorable animals available for adoption also. Go to this Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Adoptions now take place by appointment only, and that has worked very well. Donors have also helped with supplies and money, something very necessary to provide for the shelter’s homeless animals.

Potential adopters can call 717-263-5791 For more information.

Luna was surrendered to the shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. She is a 4-year-old German Shepherd who lived with another dog in the home; however, Luna will need to be fed separately from other dogs (or be the only dog in the home) as it was noted by her previous owner that she was possessive over food with the other dog in the home.

True to her breed Luna does need some time to trust new people and can be aloof at first, but is willing to meet people for treats! She is a smart girl who knows sit and down. She is very treat motivated and wants to please her people, so she may easily learn other commands! She is a very loyal girl and will be with you wherever you go! It is highly recommended that potential adopters have German Shepherd experience. Luna does chase cats, so a home without them would be best. Could Luna be your new best friend? Rachel is a 2-year-old dilute toritie who came into the shelter as a stray. She is a sweet little girl who just loves attention. Rachel loves to get petted and being close to people. Do you have the right spot for Rachel?

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
