Meet Mason and Lobo, this week’s CVAS pets of the week. Lobo the cat and Mason, a beagle, are just two of the amazing animals residing at area animal shelters.

Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter has lots of adorable pets who are looking for forever homes. While Mason and Lobo would like to meet you, check out all the other wonderful animals available for adoption also. Go to this Animal Shelter link to see all their residents.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoptions at the shelter.

Pets find themselves homeless for a wide variety of reasons, in need of a new home and a second chance. So if you are looking for a new furry best friend, check out the shelter’s many residents. Any of them would make a great pet and wonderful companion.

Mason, a beagle looking for another chance

Mason was adopted when he was just a pup. He loved his new home. Sadly, his owners had to move into a nursing home and could not take Mason with them. He’s a 10-year-old beagle looking for a second chance.

He can be a little particular with his mouth, ears and feet so his new owners will need to take this into consideration.

The Chamber Staff is always available to talk with you about how your business could greatly benefit from membership.

Because of this, an age restriction with children might apply, so be sure to discuss this with shelter staff. Mason loves to play outside in the yard and get a good scratch. Do you have the place where Mason can spend his golden years?

Lobo is one sweet guy looking for a best friend

Lobo arrived at the shelter as a stray, so we know very little about his past. He had a large abscess on his tail when he first arrived, but we cleared that up and he’s ready to find his forever home.

Lobo is one super sweet guy and he will definitely make someone an awesome best friend.

New rules during Coronavirus pandemic

In accordance with Gov. Wolf’s mandate, the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is limiting visits by the public to those seriously interested in adoption.

We will continue to care for our animals and accept any stray animals in our jurisdiction.

Those seriously interested in adoption can fill out an online application here. We will honor any appointments made with our adoption counselor. Please help us protect the health of our staff and volunteers.

Also, remember your own pets. Do you have someone who can care for them if you can’t be with them? Do you have enough food and medications for them?

Rest assured our staff will continue to care for the animals at the shelter and would certainly appreciate any help we could get at this time, either monetarily or pet supply donations. We love our Amazon friends who make sure we’re stocked up and our donors who are always willing to help.

It’s important to remain calm and not panic in the face of current conditions, but also be smart about this. Look out for one another and come together like human beings do in times of crisis. Help each other, both two-legged and four-legged. Thank you for your understanding.
