Looking for a furry best friend? There are pets galore looking for forever homes at local homeless shelters for abandoned and orphaned pets. Some have been waiting a long time, not because of any fault of their own but because they have fallen on hard times.

Meet Sugga and Titus, just two of the amazing animals residing at Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.

CVAS encourages anyone interested in bringing a four-legged friend into their home to check out the wonderful animals available for adoption at the shelter.

If you are interested in meeting Sugga or Titus, or are looking to adopt any of CVAS’s four-legged residents, please call ahead for an apointment.

The shelter has had some strict visitation rules in place during the current Coronavirus health crisis. Now that Franklin County is in the yellow phase of the COVID-19 mitigation effort, is taking things slow.

In order to enter the shelter, you will need an approved adoption application, or an appointment. Visit the CVAS website here or call the shelter at 717-263-5791 for information. The rules will probably change again once Franklin County gets into The Coronavirus mitigation’s green phase next Friday.

The Chamber Staff is always available to talk with you about how your business could greatly benefit from membership.

Even then, calling ahead for an appointment is still a good idea.

Sugga’s a really sweet girl

Meet Sugga

Sugga came to the shelter because she was being destructive in the home due to her owner’s being away for longer periods of times. She was just not adjusting to her owner’s schedule change.

She is a 10-month-old really sweet girl who takes a while to warm up to strangers. Sugga has grown to trust the staff here at the shelter and really loves those she knows well. She gets belly rubs and treats and kisses!

Due to no past history with children, an age restriction for children in the home may apply. Please discuss this with shelter staff. Could you be the second chance Sugga needs?

Titus is looking for a new best friend

Meeet Titus

If Titus looks like he just lost his best friend, he has.

Titus became homeless after his owner sadly passed away. He was adopted from CVAS as a kitten. He is now 7 years old.

He’s a real nice orange guy and would love to find a new home with you.
