Men’s golf opens fall season

The golf team at Wilson College opened the fall portion of their season this month at the Dickinson College Invitational.

The Phoenix fired a team score of 356 at the Carlisle Barracks golf course to finish last. McDaniel College took 1st place at the event with a team score of 276. Medalist honors went to McDaniel’s Ryan McGarry after he shot an 8-under par 64.

Junior Kojie Santos (Melbourne, Australia) carded a 7-over par 79 to shoot the low score for the Phoenix. It was good enough for a tie for 50th place individually.

Junior Dawson Delaney (Ocean City, MD., Stephen Decatur) finished second on the team after firing an 88, while senior Connor Martin (Warner Robins, GA., Houston County) followed with a 93.

Senior Josh Howells (Lancaster, Pa., Lampeter-Strasburg) tallied a 96 while junior Collin Bitler (Frederick, MD., Thomas Johnson) rounded out the scoring with a 101.

Wilson will be back on the course Sept. 27 at the Shenandoah University Invitational at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester, Virginia.
