Men’s Track & Field Seeks to Extend Winning Streak

 Aaron Arp Jr. and Drew Dailey will represent Shippensburg University in the men’s outdoor track & field championships  this week at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.

What Is Going On Aaron Arp Jr.

Arp is scheduled to run in the 400-meter prelims at 5:40 p.m. Thursday. The finals are scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Saturday. The school record holder in the 400 (46.81 seconds as a freshman in 2019), Arp will be competing at nationals for the second time after earning All-America honors in 2019 with an eighth-place finish. His season best of 47.03 seconds was achieved in winning the 2022 PSAC Championship.
 
Arp will be running in Heat 2 of 3 and was assigned Lane 2. The Top 2 times in each heat plus the next three fastest overall times will advance to the finals.

What Is Happening Drew Dailey

Dailey is scheduled to run in the 800-meter prelims at 6 p.m. Friday. The finals are scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Saturday. He is making his NCAA Championships debut and is vying to become the first men’s outdoor All-American in the 800 meters in school history. His season best and school record of 1:48.67 was achieved in April at the Bucknell Team Challenge.
 
Dailey will be running in Heat 1 of 3 and was assigned Lane 9. The Top 2 times in each heat plus the next three fastest overall times will advance to the finals.
