Ship U: Men’s Track & Field Wraps Up Regular Season

 In the rain at Penn State University on Friday the Shippensburg University men’s outdoor track & field team had its final tune-up of the regular season. The  Raiders competed in the Jim Thorpe Invitational.

What Happened

The majority of the competition for the Raiders occurred in the field, notably the throwers. Josh Herbster had his best hammer throw travel 185 feet, 6 inches, while Pat Maloney was just two feet shy of his season best with a top hammer throw of 178 feet. Maloney led the Raiders in the discus, throwing 143 feet, 4 inches.
Logan Parker paced SU in the shot, with his best throw traveling 49 feet, 1 inch. Brooks Bear had a top shot put of 46 feet, 3 ½ inches, and a top discus throw of 141 feet, 11 inches.
Other field action included Donovan Hart placing third in the high jump, with his highest clearance of the bar at 6 feet, 2 ¾ inches.
Jake Lawson and Cole Harris ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the track. Lawson ran fourth in 10:32.79 and Harris ran sixth in 10:48.76.
