Michael E. Riley 1966-2026

Michael E. Riley, 60, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Michael E. Riley
Michael E. Riley

Born March 3, 1966, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Althea (Sherman) Riley and the late Robert Riley.

Mike spent much of his working life as a fruit farmer before transitioning to a career as a truck driver for various companies. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and fishing.

In quieter moments, Mike found joy in creativity—building model train exhibits and working on crafts of all kinds. He also had a love for music and proudly played the drums in a local band.

Above all, Mike found his greatest happiness in the time he shared with his family and loved ones. He will be remembered for the simple pleasures he enjoyed and the genuine connections he made throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy (Miller) Riley of Chambersburg; his beloved sons, Michael Riley, Jr. of Bendersville, PA, and Matthew Riley of Abbottstown, PA; his beloved stepson Alex Goodman, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA; his beloved step daughter Whitney Goodman of Chambersburg, PA;  his cherished grandchildren, Derrick, Connor, and Bryan Riley; and his siblings, Deborah Hillemeier of Connecticut, James Riley of Gettysburg, PA, and Robert Riley of Texas. Mike loved his faithful companion, his fur baby, the late puppers Kelsey.

In honoring Mike’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.

A Service of Remembrance will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.

Condolences and memories may be shared at the funeral home’s website.
