Michael R Group, age 70 of Aspers, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home.
He was born Saturday, May 12, 1951 in Carlisle the son of the late Robert T. and Janet (March) Group.
Mike graduated from Biglerville High School in 1969. He was a freelance wildlife writer and photographer and an Eastern Shore hunting guide. He was a former program director at Camp Tuckahoe and very involved in Boy Scout Troop 75 in Gardners.
Mike was a frequent guest on WIOO radio as an outdoor personality. He photographed many historical places and events in Adams County. He led programs at Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve in Fairfield.
Mike was also an animal lover, especially his cats.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica A. Griffith of Philadelphia, one brother, David Group of Aspers, step- sister, Rosalind Group of York Springs, step-brother, Fred Altice of Dillsburg, step-sister Shirley Hemler of Aspers, step-brother Harvey Altice of Utah, step-mother Nancy Group of Aspers.
He was preceded in death by step-sister Rosetta Group.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville.
Services will be held at the discretion of the family.
