Mike Waters Citizen of the Year Award

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE HONOR!

We are beyond excited to announce that Little Daisy’s Closet has been awarded the Don “Mike” Waters Citizen of the Year Award from the Borough of Chambersburg. The prestigious award was presented by Mike Waters son Don to LDC President Mike Russo! ️

What an amazing moment for LDC!

This award represents so much more than recognition—it celebrates the heart, compassion, dedication, and countless hours given by our volunteers, board members, donors, community partners, and supporters.
From every donation received, every hour volunteered, every family welcomed through our doors, and every act of kindness shared—this award belongs to our entire LDC family and our wonderful community!
We are incredibly honored and grateful to the Borough of Chambersburg for recognizing the work and mission of Little Daisy’s Closet.

We celebrate our volunteers, supporters and community.

And most importantly, we celebrate the families we have the privilege of serving.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
