Mildred Winter 1940-2024

Mildred Winter, 84, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 peacefully at her residence.

Born January 31, 1940 in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Sadie Welsh.

Mildred worked for the Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg where she loved working for over 30 years.  She also worked at ER & Son Inc. which she was a big part of her husbands business.  

She loved the outdoors including hiking, and picnicking with family. She also really enjoyed traveling with her husband everywhere he went. In her early life she enjoyed cooking and roller skating.

She is survived by two children, Crystal Doyle (Glen) of Chambersburg and Eric Winter of Sunbury, PA; two grandchildren, Chad (Camilya) Stover of Sunbury PA, and Kyle (Alyssa) Huff of Chambersburg PA; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; three sisters, Emily, Catherine, and Belva; and a brother, Robert.

Arrangements are entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services Inc. of Chambersburg.
