GETTYSBURG (Aug. 28, 2019) – Two missing children were located yesterday in Florida, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.
Police provided no information about circumstances under which the children were found or their current location, citing an active, ongoing investigation in the case.
The children, 2-year-old Lilyen June Vanmetre and 4-year-old Jayden Cash Vanmetre, have been missing since last weekend. Aug. 25.
Yesterday, Pennsylvania State Police obtained an arrest warrant for the children’s mother, Lacey Kelly, 26, of Gettysburg.
Charges filed to obtain the warrant included Interference of the Custody of a Child and Concealing Whereabouts of a Child.
At the time, police said they thought Kelly’s boyfriend, Damien Highlander, 28, of Biglerville, might be with her and the children.
The latest news release simply said “the children were located safely in Florida.”
