Macy Carper — Women’s runner of the week
Carper (Sunbury, Pa. / Shikellamy) has had a great start to her collegiate running career.
She has won two-straight races, including pacing the field at Saturday’s Penn State Mont Alto Invitational.
The freshman had a good start and distanced herself from the competitors and finished first with a time of 21:57.
Gavin Miller — Men’s runner of the week
Fellow freshman Gavin Miller (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro Area) has quickly established himself as the top runner for the Mont Alto men’s cross country team.
Last weekend he put together another outstanding performance, finishing second in the men’s 5K race with a time of 19:23.
The Mont Alto cross country team will return to competition on Saturday, April 17 at the Penn State Brandywine Invitational.
Brooklyn Wagner — Softball hitter of the week
Wagner was able to reach base and hit safely in all eight games that she played last week to help Mont Alto go 6-2 against PSUAC West competition.
Nine of her 16 hits were extra base hits, including two triples as she hit .444 across the week. The senior infielder also scored eight runs while driving in 10.
She currently ranks fourth in the PSUAC with a total of 19 RBIs. She is second in the conference in home runs with three so far.
Katie McCauslin — Softball pitcher of the week

Hayden Kissell — Baseball player of the week
Kissel (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg Area) has been hitting the cover off the ball in recent weeks; and last week was no different with the infielder having another productive week at the plate slashing .500 to earn USCAA Baseball Player of the Week Honors.
This is the first-time Kissel has received this honor during his collegiate career. He helped Mont Alto pick up four more wins to improve to a PSUAC-best 15-2 overall. Kissell’s big week included nine RBIs, three doubles and a grand slam that broke the game wide open in Mont Alto’s 17-3 weekend win over New Kensington.
The infielder is hitting .362 with 17 RBIs, five stolen bases and 13 runs scored. His batting average is fifth best as Mont Alto leads the conference hitting .316 combined.
The Nittany Lions had Tuesday’s nine inning contest slated with PSU Fayette postponed due to weather but will now return to action on Friday hosting Penn State Beaver for a home doubleheader.
