Nancy Filer (Phillips) Kraft 1935~2021
Mrs. Nancy Filer (Phillips) Kraft, 86, of SpiriTrust Lutheran, the Inn at Luther Ridge, Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021.
Born March 11, 1935 in Southampton, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mable (Overton) Phillips.
Mrs. Kraft was a graduate of Pierson High School in Sag Harbor, NY and later Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.
During her working years, Mrs. Kraft was a special education teacher in New York State for many years.
She was a member of Quincy United Methodist Church, Quincy, PA where she sang in the choir. She was an active volunteer at New Hope Shelter in Waynesboro, PA and with Stephen Ministries while making her home at Luther Ridge.
Mrs. Kraft is survived by one son, Richard M. Kraft and his wife, Violet of Rockland, ME; three grandchildren, Shandra Kraft Weaver and her husband, Matthew Weaver of Waynesboro, Sean-Michael Kraft of Ft. Benning, GA and Olivia Kraft of Rockland; two great-grandchildren, Nate Weaver and Cassius Weaver; and one brother, Jack Phillips of Cutchogue, NY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Phillips.
A memorial service will be held in Quincy United Methodist Church, 8734 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro with the Rev. Kraig Faust officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
