About Salmonella
Symptoms typically develop 6 hours to 6 days after exposure and include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days, and most people recover without treatment. Severe cases may require hospitalization, particularly among children under 5, adults over 65, and people with weakened immune systems.
