There is still time to sign up for a new leadership class to hone leadership skills and network with other professionals.
The Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation is now accepting applications for its Leadership Franklin County (LFC) Community class of 2021.
The LFC Community program is a nine-month leadership training course sponsored by F&M Trust. Professionals taking the course gain leadership skills, learn more about the community and serve local nonprofits. The program also offers a professional networking opportunity to meet more than 70 new community contacts.
A virtual information session is available through Zoom at 12:30 p.m. May 19 and 4 p.m. May 21.
Virginia Harringer, Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation executive director, calls the program “a fantastic opportunity” for local professionals.
It helps participants observe the growth, opportunities and challenges in the community, make a difference and connect with others, she said.
Founded in 1985, LFC teaches emerging leaders about the community and grows their professional networks. More than 650 individuals have graduated from the program since its founding.
The tuition-based program selects students through an application and interview process; scholarship opportunities are also available.
Cost is $1,300 per student and the application deadline is June 30.
Classes are limited to 25 students. The program begins with a retreat tentatively scheduled for Sept. 18. For more information about LFC Community or to apply, visit Chambersburg.org/Leadership or contact Harriger at [email protected]
