2021 Division II National Coaching Staff of the Year was awarded by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) to Shippensburg University. This took place on Thursday at the annual NFHCA Convention.
The Raider staff features head coach Tara Zollinger and assistants Jordan Page, Alexandra Pennington and Mary Spisak. SU’s coaching staff received the prestigious national honor after guiding the 2021 squad to victory in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship game and the NCAA Division II National Championship.
It is the fifth time that Shippensburg received the National Coaching Staff of the Year and the third award under head coach Zollinger. SU’s fifth time receiving this award surpasses Bloomsburg (four) for the most since it was first issued in 2000.

Shippensburg was ranked No. 1 in the national poll during the regular season and finished 20-0, becoming the first team since Massachusetts-Lowell in 2020 win a national championship with an undefeated record.
In five seasons under Zollinger’s direction, the Raiders have posted an 8-0 record in the NCAA Tournament.
