NHTSA Recall Issued for Evenflo LiteMax Child Seats Over Manual Error

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new safety recall involving certain child restraint systems.

NHTSA Recall ID Number 26C002 affects LiteMax Factory Select child seats manufactured by Evenflo Company, Inc., model number CS100111198.

According to the recall notice, the weight and height limitations are stated incorrectly in the Spanish-language instruction manual. The issue causes the seats to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”

Incorrect information in the manual could result in a child being improperly restrained, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Evenflo will mail a corrected Spanish-language manual to owners free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 31, 2026.

Owners may contact Evenflo customer service at 1-800-233-5921 for more information.

Consumers can check whether their car seat is included in a recall by entering the brand name or model into the NHTSA Recall Look-up Tool. If a car seat is part of a recall, owners should contact the manufacturer for additional details and remedy information.
