Nicholas “Nick” Barnhart 1979~2021


On Friday, April 2, 2021, Nicholas “Nick” Barnhart, charismatic and loving father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew, passed away at age 41.

Nick was born on October 25, 1979 in Hagerstown, MD to Margaret “Peggy” and Richard “Rick” Barnhart.

He graduated from North Hagerstown High School and attended Hagerstown Business College. He later graduated from Mendenhall School of Auctioneering.

Nick loved his family, especially his son Braden. He was a kindhearted man who never gave a second thought to helping others. Whether visiting his nephews, surprising his sister with gifts, volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club, or repairing basketball hoops in the park, Nick brought humor and joy to any moment.

Nick was a natural athlete who liked playing and watching sports. He even coached youth basketball at the YMCA.

An avid fisherman, Nick lived in Key West for several years, and enjoyed the occasional fishing trip with his uncle and cousins.

Nick worked hard renovating homes and managing rental properties with his mentor & business partner Gary Suder. He spent most of his time with loving companion and dog, Charlie.

Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents Elizabeth Devlin and Mary and Linford Barnhart.

He is survived by his son Braden, mother Peggy, father Rick, sister Mary Beth, nephews Benjamin and Jacob, nieces Rachel and Rivka, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Rev. Robert Malagesi, MSSCC officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro.

There will be no public viewing.
