“The Cumberland Valley is full of talented, passionate individuals who are investing in their
careers, supporting local organizations and finding ways to make our communities stronger,”
said Kylie Thomas, executive director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce. “I think
it’s important that we create opportunities for young professionals to feel connected, supported
and inspired to continue growing right here in the Cumberland Valley.”

The CVBA encourages businesses, organizations and community members to nominate a young
professional who deserves recognition.

“Sometimes, all it takes is someone else recognizing your potential to help you recognize it in
yourself,” Thomas said.

Community members are also invited to attend the Young Professionals Awards ceremony on
Nov. 4. The formal event will feature dinner, dessert, beer and wine, along with the
presentation of this year’s awards. Tickets are $65 for CVBA members and $75 for
nonmembers. Formal attire is encouraged, but not required. Attendees must RSVP by Friday,
Oct. 30.

The event will be held at Majestic at Whiskey Run, 2437 Adin Lane, Chambersburg.

Sponsorship opportunities are also still available for businesses interested in supporting the
event and its recognition of the Cumberland Valley’s next generation of leaders.

Who We Are

The Franklin County Free Press, established by Vicky Taylor in 2019, emerged as a beacon of local journalism for the residents of Franklin County. Under Vicky's leadership, it quickly became an essential source of news, particularly at a time when major newspaper publications were increasingly overlooking local coverage.

On January 1, 2022, the torch was passed to Nathan Neil and his firm, Neil Publishing, LLC. Neil, a local entrepreneur with multiple thriving businesses in Chambersburg, shares Vicky's fervent commitment to both the community and the world of local journalism.

Rooted in the heart of Franklin County and powered by its residents, the Franklin County Free Press continues to bridge the gap, ensuring that the local stories, events, and issues that matter most to the community remain in the spotlight.
