Mrs. Lois “Jean” (Kauffman) Sheffler, 88, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday morning, February 26, 2020 in her home.
Born August 7, 1931 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late William Kauffman and Helen (Potts) Lohman.
She and her husband of 72 years, Floyd R. Sheffler, Sr., were married December 24, 1947, in Hagerstown, MD.
Mrs. Sheffler was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, collecting Emmett Kelly clowns, collecting lighthouses, and attending family get togethers.
She was a life member of William Max McLaughlin VFW Post #695 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesboro.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sheffler is survived by four children, Floyd R. Sheffler, Jr. and Anita L. Baker of Waynesboro, SuEllen King of Brunswick, MD and Terri E. Sheffler of Waynesboro; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Yeakle of Waynesboro; two brothers, William Kauffman of State Line, PA and David Kauffman of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda J. Sheffler.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2020 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
