Mr. Robert “Creed” Yoder, 89, formerly of Meyersdale, PA passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Homewood Retirement Centers, Williamsport, MD.

Born September 21, 1930 in Meyersdale, PA, he was the son of the late Ervin J. and Mabel (Miller) Yoder. He and his wife, the late Miriam I. (Bender) Yoder enjoyed 60 years of marriage before her death November 27, 2014.

Mr. Yoder was a dairy farmer in Somerset County, PA. He retired in 1998, following the devastation to his farm caused by a tornado.

While living in the Meyersdale area he was active in several churches where he led singing and taught Sunday school. His love of music led him to become a member of the Cumberland Valley Choral Society. He had always been infatuated by horses, racing horses in particular and although he never owned a horse, he loved to draw them. He also liked to dabble in woodworking and was often found carving and testing out homemade stains to finish his creations. He also loved spending time with his family and often hid away snacks that he could serve to them when they would come to visit him.

He is survived by 5 sons, Dwight Yoder & wife Kelly, Annapolis, MD; Geoff Yoder & wife Lauretta, Bridgeville, DE; Lin Yoder & wife Bonnie, Greencastle, Pa., Larry Yoder & wife Shannon, Greencastle, Pa, and Bob Yoder & wife Pamela, Goshen, Indiana; two daughters Joy Pressman & husband Dennis, Bethel Park, Pa., and Kathy Martin & husband Greg, Hagerstown, Md; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Vera Yoder, and her husband, Clark of Salisbury, PA, Lee “Bud” Yoder of Grantsville, PA, David Yoder and his wife, Mary Jane of Cumberland, MD and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale E. Yoder, a granddaughter Kathy J. Yoder and his siblings: Paul E. Yoder and Nona Hartsburg.
