The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is encouraging residents to use three-digit phone numbers to access different types of help.
In a recent public message, the agency said “three digits is all it takes to turn an unlucky day around” and shared several numbers available for specific needs.
According to the graphic, 911 should be used for life-threatening emergencies. Residents can call 211 to get connected to help with basic needs. For roadway conditions, residents can call 511 or check online at 511pa.com. The agency also noted that 988 is available for thoughts of suicide and mental health crises.
