Patricia A (Allen) Muir obituary 1929~2021
Mrs. Patricia A. (Allen) Muir, 91, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 4, 1929 in Dallas, TX, she was the daughter of the late Jack Allen and Patricia Hovis.
Mrs. Muir was a graduate of the Washington (DC) School for Secretaries.
She worked for many years as the executive secretary for the American Library Association. She retired in 1997.
Mrs. Muir was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro and the Loyal Order of the Hibernians.
She was an avid doll collector, avid reader, and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia J. Simmons of Smithsburg, MD; 8 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Doyle Raider, Jr. who was killed in action during the Korean War; two sons, Lester Doyle Rader, III and Edward John Muir; and one grandson, Matthew Muir.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Robert Malagesi, MSSCC officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Thursday morning, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
