Mrs. Patricia L Culler (Gerhart), 86, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 in her home, after an extended illness.
Born March 17, 1935 in Chambersburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late A. Preston and Anna Mary (Walker) Gerhart.
She grew up on her family’s farm in Shimpstown, PA, which was right next to the one room school house, where her father was a teacher.
She graduated from Mercersburg High School with the class of 1953, and went on to further her education at Hagerstown Medical Secretarial School, Hagerstown, MD.
She began working as a secretary for Dr. Brewer in Greencastle until she took a position as secretary at Montgomery Elementary School in Mercersburg. She was an Avon Representative for over 30 years.
Patricia married Lloyd A. Culler March 3, 1955 in West Virginia. They enjoyed over 62 years together before Lloyd passed away December 9, 2017.
She was a lifelong attendee of Lemasters United Methodist Church, Lemasters, PA. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, freezing and canning and taking care of her home. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Time spent with her children and grandchildren was most important to her.
She is survived by her son, Rodney J. Culler, and his wife, Doren of Mercersburg; her daughter, Lori S. Michael, and her husband, Robert of Mercersburg; Two grandchildren: Beth N. Reed and Stacy L. Meyers, and her husband, Greg; four great-grandchildren: Ian and Olivia Reed and Eve and Luna Meyers and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald S. Gerhart, of Tennessee.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Lemasters United Methodist Church, 4632 Lemar Rd. Mercersburg, PA 17236, with Rev. Grant Brouse officiating.
