Paul Carmack recognized by DL Martin
Paul Carmack has been recognized by D.L. Martin Co. as its Employee of the Month for July. Paul is a maintenance technician who lives in Upton and has been with the company for 33 years.
His supervisor, Doug Witmer, is the Maintenance Manager who has been with D.L. Martin Co. for 39 years.
Paul’s suggestion reduces wear on forklifts caused by accelerating and then stopping quick to slide plate skeletons off the forks and into the scrap bin. It also reduces time wasted rearranging skeletons when they do not fall flat into the bin.
Paul suggested installing removable posts on top of the bin so the forklift operator can raise skeletons up above the posts, move forward and lower them behind the posts. The skeletons then slide off flat into the bin while the forklift is backing up.
The company also recognizes Scott Biddinger, Ken Embly, Terry Heidel, Derrick MacDowall, Alaric Varner, Matt Williams and Brandi Younker for their suggestions implemented through the company’s Continual Improvement Program in July.
D.L. Martin Co. provides precision machined components, fabricated components and assemblies to the elevator, heavy truck, mining, HVAC, construction, energy and agriculture industries, as well as Level 1 components and assemblies to the U.S. Government.
