The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that all driver’s license and photo centers will be closed from Saturday, Sept. 5, through Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, for the Labor Day holiday.
Customers can continue to access driver and vehicle services online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website during the closure.
Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Services include driver’s license, photo ID and vehicle registration renewals, driver history services, address changes, restoration letters, payment of driver’s license or vehicle insurance restoration fees, duplicate driver’s licenses and photo IDs, REAL ID pre-verification and driver exam scheduling.
PennDOT does not charge additional fees for using its online services.
A full list of PennDOT driver and photo license center closings for 2026 is available online. Customers planning to visit a PennDOT Online Messenger Service Center during the holiday period are advised to call ahead to confirm hours.
PennDOT also reminded travelers that a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, or another acceptable form of identification such as a passport, is required to board domestic commercial flights. Information about REAL ID requirements is available at pa.gov/REALID.
Travelers can check road conditions through 511PA. The service provides information on traffic delays, weather forecasts, traffic speeds and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. It is available online, through the 511PA mobile app and by calling 5-1-1.
