The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) is reminding truck drivers hauling equipment or carrying large loads to check their cargo height before traveling.
PennDOT advises drivers to confirm that their load will fit under bridges along their route. The agency recommends loading once and checking cargo height twice to avoid bridge strikes.
Drivers are also urged to lower truck beds and drop booms when possible to help prevent dangerous and costly collisions with bridges.
