The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is reminding residents that walking along railroad tracks is dangerous and illegal.
According to PennDOT, a person on the tracks can be difficult for an approaching train operator to see. Even if the person is spotted, the train may not be able to stop in time.
PennDOT is urging the public not to walk along railroad tracks and to cross tracks only at designated public crossings.
More information is available at pa.gov under PennDOT’s railroad safety resources.
