The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) issued a winter driving safety reminder this week, warning motorists to be alert for black ice during cold weather conditions.
According to PennDOT, roads that appear wet may actually be frozen, creating dangerous driving conditions. Black ice is often difficult to see and can lead to sudden loss of vehicle control.
PennDOT encourages drivers to use caution during winter travel and to stay informed by reviewing additional winter driving tips available at penndot.pa.gov/winter.
