The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development announced that Pennsylvania is the top mushroom-producing state in the United States.
Pennsylvania farmers produce more than half of the nation’s mushrooms, supporting a $1.3 billion industry. The mushroom industry provides thousands of jobs across the state.
The announcement coincides with September’s recognition as National Mushroom Month.
