Every baby born in Pennsylvania receives three health screenings within 24 to 48 hours after birth, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The screenings include a dried blood spot test, a hearing screening and a screening for critical heart defects. The tests are used to check a newborn’s health shortly after birth.
More information is available through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
