Chambersburg police arrested a local man for retail theft and the US Marshal Service has arrested one man wanted by the Chambersburg authorities. A set of GM car keys was turned into the Chambersburg police.

POSSESSION OF FIREARMS – A Chambersburg man wanted on a 7-month-old arrest warrant has been taken into custody in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Michael Harry Dereef, 46, was arrested by the United States Marshal Service Friday in Washington County Maryland, police said.
Chambersburg police obtained the warrant on June 26, 2019, from Magisterial District Judge Glenn Manns on gun-related charges. He is charged with a second-degree illegal possession of a firearm as a felon prohibited from possessing that type of weapon, and a third degree felony possession of a firearm without a license.
RETAIL THEFT – Dennis Hockenberry, 51, Chambersburg, faces a retail theft charge after allegedly taking two tumbler cups valued at $31.78 from the Sheetz convenience store on Monticello Court at 7:54 p.m. Jan. 10.
The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Glenn Manns as a summary citation Jan. 22. Hockenberry has not entered a plea in the case yet.
FOUND PROPERTY – A set of keys found in downtown Chambersburg Friday have been turned in to Chambersburg police.
One key is silver and the other one is black with a GM logo on it. The keys were found behind the Olympia Candy Store located at 43 S Main St. The owner can claim the property at the Chambersburg Police Department.
