In Franklin County, Chambersburg police have reported arrests in a disturbance on Lincoln Way West and Garner Streets Friday. In Cumberland County, a hearing has been set for Tuesday for a murderer serving two life sentences who has asked for a compassionate release from prison.
DISORDERLY: Winsky Benson Moise, 25, Chambersburg, was charged with Obstructing the Administration of Law, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following an incident downtown Friday.
Chambersburg Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of Lincoln Way West and Garber Street for an active domestic dispute Friday. Once on the scene officers found a disorderly female yelling profanities and banging on a nearby door with her fists.
After taking this female into custody, officers were approached by a male, later identified as Winsky Moise, who attempted to interject himself into the arrest.
After attempts to keep Moise back and out of the way of the arrest did not work he was also arrested. During the arrest, Moise failed to comply with the arresting officer’s commands and was subsequently charged with resisting arrest as well as the other two misdemeanor charges.
HEARING: A hearing for a petition by a former Newburg man serving two life sentences for two 1974 murder is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, before President Judge Edward Guido in Courtroom #3 at the Cumberland County Courthouse.
Warriner Bass II, 65, asked the court in April to consider a compassionate release from prison because he is suffering from a terminal illness.
He pleaded guilty to the 1974 murders of Esther Singer, 50, and her daughter, Vickie, 19, and is currently serving his sentence in. Virginia penitentiary.
