SHIPPENSBURG — Driving without a valid driver’s license will cost a Shippensburg man big bucks if he is found guilty during a summary trial next month.
Alexis Cruz-Esquilin, 35, was stopped at 10:21 p.m. June 29 and cited for not having a drivers license.
The officer advised him not to drive until he obtains a valid license and offered him a ride home which he declined, telling the officer he would walk.
Minutes after the officer left the vehicle was gone.
On July 5, police viewed surveillance from the convenience store which showed that Cruz-Esquilin waited for police to leave then drove away up Queen Street.
A second citation was filed charging him with the same offense. If he is convicted during his summary trial Aug. 7, each offense will result in a $200 fine plus court costs.
Found cell phone: A cell phone found in the first block of South Penn Street July 5 has been turned in to Shippensburg Police Department.
The cell phone is black and has a wood grain case and Fireball sticker attached. The owner may claim the phone at the Shippensburg Police Department.
