Prayers Requested for Mother and 3 Daughters Who Were Airlifted from Crash

On Monday, May 22, 2023, at around 5:35 p.m., a car crash occurred in Montgomery Township involving Sheena Hockenberry, a 39-year-old resident of Greencastle, and Owen Mack, a 19-year-old from Mercersburg, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Hockenberry, who was driving her 2017 Ram westbound, did not manage to stop in time as Mack halted his vehicle to turn onto Garnes Road/T-311. This failure to yield resulted in a collision where Hockenberry’s vehicle struck Mack’s from behind.

The crash resulted in injuries to Hockenberry and her three daughters, aged 10, 12, and 15, who were subsequently airlifted to Hershey Medical Center for treatment. The exact extent of their injuries is currently unknown, and several friends of the family have taken to social media to request prayers for their recovery.

Mack, on the other hand, escaped the incident unscathed, despite the damage to his vehicle. In Both vehicles involved in the accident had to be towed away from the scene due to the impact of the collision.

Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction Planned

An event has been planned to help the family.

A Facebook event page says, “As you can imagine, the recovery for them will be a long one. With the help of a group of people we are putting together a Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction for Sheena and her 3 daughters to help offset some of the financial burdens this will leave them with when they fully recover. All proceeds from this event will go directly to this family.”

The event will be held Sunday July 23rd 4:30 – 8PM at the Upton Community Center.
