Priscilla Lois Weaver obituary 1938~2020
Mrs. Priscilla Lois (Gehman) Weaver, 82, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick, MD. She had resided at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown for over 8 years.
Born October 18, 1938 in Wadsworth, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Mabel (Keener) Gehman.
She graduated from Hagerstown High with the Class of 1956.
She married H. Leon “Sonnie” Weaver November 25, 1961 in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, Greencastle, PA.
Priscilla’s main priority was her family and home but she also found time to be a field editor for Taste of Home Magazine and to be part owner of Tristate Concrete.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, Greencastle, where she served as a nursery schoolteacher for 37 years.
She loved antique cars and was a member of several car clubs including, AACA, VACCA, Hub City Model A and Mason Dixon Car Club.
Priscilla and her husband toured all across the country together. She loved spending time working in her expansive gardens planting and harvesting her vegetables.
She was a gifted seamstress who made her own wedding gown as well as her daughter’s. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed doing many crafts over the years.
In addition to her husband, Sonnie, she is survived by her son, Jeryl Weaver, Hagerstown, MD; her daughter, Janel Young and her husband Keith, Berkley Springs, WV; two grandsons: Keith “KT” Young, Jr. and Randy Young; a sister, Velma Poffenberger and her husband, Jerry, Hagerstown and many nieces and nephews, scattered all across the country.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, with Pastor Gayle Ruble officiating.
A private burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Greencastle will follow.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 23rd and again one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
Masks will be required.
