Property Tax, Rent Rebate Deadline Extended

Property Tax, Rent Rebate Deadline Extended

FRANKLIN COUNTY — The deadline to apply for the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate has been extended to Dec. 31.

But local elected officials want their constituents to know they don’t have to pay someone to fill out the forms, which can sometimes seem complicated or confusing to the elderly or disabled who are the program’s main beneficiaries of the program.

Instead, if those constituents bring their paperwork — including income documentation and tax bills or rent receipts — to their representatives’ office, the paperwork can be completed for them free of charge.
