Shippensburg University tennis: Raiders tennis drops match

The Raiders women’s tennis drops match with West Chester.

The Shippensburg University team came up short against West Chester on Tuesday, dropping a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match to the Golden Rams by a 7-0 score at South Campus.

Jenna Sluymer (Nieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands/Haarlemmermeer Lyceum, Hoofddorp) won 10 games at No. 2 singles, falling 5-7, 5-7 to Davica Massaro.

Freshman Skylar Walder (Green Pond, N.J./Morris Knolls) won three games at No. 1 singles, and freshman Brighid Cantwell (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) won three games at No. 3 singles.

Walder and Sluymer won two games at No. 1 doubles, while Cantwell and Kayla Tryanski (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) won two games at No. 2 doubles.

SCHEDULE CHANGE

Shippensburg’s scheduled Friday match against Bloomsburg will now take place at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Robb Sports Complex. It is projected to be the lone home match of the season for the Raiders, and they will honor senior Hannah Wieller (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) before the match.
