The Raiders women’s swimming team advanced 13 individuals to evening finals Saturday as it continued its weekend at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational held at the Kunkel Aquatic Center.
The lone relay of the day was the 200-yard medley relay in which senior Tomomi Nakano (Hershey, Pa./Hershey), freshman Lauren Croll (Honolulu, Hi./President Theodore Roosevelt), freshman Kristin Gebhard (Reading, Pa./Twin Valley) and senior Madison Breiner (Glen Mills, Pa./Bayard Rustin) placed fifth with a time of 1:48.59. Nakano’s was timed at 27.32 seconds on the opening backstroke split.
Of SU’s finalists, 10 performances satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard. Breiner was the lone finalist in the 200-yard freestyle, placing fourth overall with an ‘A’ finals time of 1:56.54.
Sophomore Alyssa Tomb (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) delivered a superlative performance in the evening finals of the 400-yard individual medley (IM), shedding four seconds off her morning prelim time in placing third overall with a time of 4:40.35.
