Get into the Halloween spirit with this fun and easy recipe for Mummy Hot Dogs! Perfect for parties, family dinners, or spooky movie nights, these tasty treats take classic pigs in a blanket to the next level. Simply wrap your favorite hot dogs in crescent roll dough to look like little mummies, bake until golden brown, and add “eyes” with dots of mustard or ketchup. They’re kid-friendly, festive, and ready in minutes—making them a frightfully good addition to your Halloween menu!

Cooking Times

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-oz.) can Crescent dough
  • 3 slices American cheese
  • 12 hot dogs
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • Dijon mustard

Cooking Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375° and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate crescent dough into 4 rectangles, pinching together seams as necessary. Cut each rectangle lengthwise into thin strips.
  • Step 2: Cut each slice of American cheese into 4 strips.
  • Step 3: Place a hot dog on top of a piece of cheese, then wrap with crescent dough to look like bandages. (You’ll need about 4 pieces of crescent dough per hot dog.) Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Step 4: Place on prepared baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
  • Step 5: Bake until crescent dough is golden and cooked through, 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Step 6: Using a toothpick, dot mustard onto each hot dog to create eyes.

Storage and make ahead:

  • These treats are not only extremely easy to make, but are perfect for making ahead of your Halloween party. Assemble them before baking and pop in the freezer until ready to make. Alternatively, you can bake them, cool, and freeze for up to a week, or store in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • Recommend you eat these once baked off and slightly cooled. But, you can definitely make these and chill for another mealtime. To reheat from the fridge or the freezer turn the oven to 350º to 375º and roast until heated through.
