Red Kettle Donations in Chambersburg Trail Last Year by $18,000

The Salvation Army in Chambersburg reports that its Red Kettle campaign has raised $23,000 so far this season. At this point last year, donations totaled $41,000, marking an $18,000 shortfall.

According to the organization, while community support for Christmas toy assistance remains strong, Red Kettle donations fund programs that operate year-round. These include meals, utility and rent assistance, emergency support, and other local services.

The Salvation Army notes that donations made in person or online help sustain operations beyond the holiday season and support families throughout the year.

The update was shared by Major James and Joy Labbe.
