Richard E Hunsecker, 87, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away Oct. 19, 2021 at Brookview Health Center in Menno Haven.
He was born on December 15, 1933 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Charles and Emma (Ebersole) Hunsecker.
Richard had been a painter for 27 years and also worked at the Butcher Shoppe for 32 years. He was a member of Chambersburg Mennonite Church. He enjoyed camping with his family, gardening, singing, and puzzles. He volunteered with Operation Christmas Child and the Cumberland Valley Relief Center.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise B. (Strite) Hunsecker, and their six children: Norma (Doug) Barnes, Joyce (Russel) Hartman, Marilyn (Fred) Murphy, Ruth (Ray) Daye, David (Brenda) Hunsecker, and Daryl (Rhonda) Hunsecker. He is survived by eighteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a brother, Charles (Ellen) Hunsecker.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Hunsecker and three brothers, Harold, Wilmer & Mervin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday Oct. 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Chambersburg Mennonite Church.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 till 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
