Mr. Richard Paul Mummert, 65, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Saturday March 11, 2023, in the York Hospital.
Born March 8, 1958 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Paul Luther and Emma Grace (Pryor) Mummert.
Mr. Mummert graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1976.
In his early life, he worked at U.S. National Fire Academy, Emmitsburg, MD. He later worked for National Book Network and Camp Louise, both in Blue Ridge Summit, PA.
Mr. Mummert was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Sabillasville, MD and the Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Association.
He loved Jesus, reading his Bible and attending Bible studies. He was also an avid Civil War reenactor, who loved Philadelphia sports, all kinds of music, singing karaoke and watching westerns.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Paul Mummert (Sarah) of Boiling Springs, PA and Christopher Steven Mummert (Ashley) of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Mummert and MaryGrace Mummert; two brothers, L. Franklin Mummert and Samuel Mummert, both of Waynesboro; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Albert Deal officiating.Â
Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday afternoon, in the funeral home.
